Since 2016, Dreams for Schools has been a leader in after-school STEAM education in Orange County. We partner with numerous school districts, youth-serving organizations, and other entities dedicated to youth development to bring innovative coding, technology, and engineering programs to students. Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Volunteer & Materials Manager to join our team. This role is essential in managing our inventory, school ready materials, and volunteer programs, including individual volunteers, groups, and corporate events. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in volunteer management, and the ability to handle complex logistics for educational programs.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
● Oversee the inventory of all educational materials and supplies used in our STEAM programs
● Develop and maintain an efficient system for tracking, ordering, and restocking materials
● Prepare and organize materials for K-12 STEAM instructors on a seasonal basis
● Ensure all materials are properly stored, labeled, and easily accessible
● Coordinate with instructors and program managers to understand material needs and anticipate future requirements
● Develop and implement strategies to recruit, train, and retain volunteers
● Manage individual volunteers, volunteer groups, and corporate volunteer events
● Create and maintain volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all programs and events
● Develop and conduct volunteer orientation and training sessions
● Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and impact
● Recognize and appreciate volunteers through various initiatives
● Coordinate team members to organize corporate volunteer events
● Ensure smooth execution of corporate events, including material preparation and volunteer coordination
● Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with corporate partners
● Prepare regular reports on inventory status, material needs, and volunteer program metrics
● Collaborate with other departments to align volunteer and materials management efforts with organizational goals
● Stay updated on best practices in inventory management and volunteer coordination in educational settings
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
● 2+ years of experience in inventory management, volunteer coordination, or similar roles
● Strong organizational and logistical skills
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Proficiency in inventory management software and volunteer management systems
● Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including volunteers, staff, and partners
● Familiarity with corporate social responsibility programs and volunteer management
● Ability to prioritize and complete projects by deadline, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
● Excellent interpersonal skills, critical-thinking skills, professionalism, and problem-solving skills
● Experience in event planning and execution
● Experience with database management and reporting
● Passion for education, digital literacy and STEAM subjects
● Experience working in an educational or nonprofit setting
● Knowledge of STEAM education materials and supplies
● Eligible to work in the United States, have a valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation with proof of car insurance.
● Must pass a criminal background check, due to engagement with staff and children at school sites.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a full-time position with a salary of $54,000 per year depending on experience. Typical hours would be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with occasional attendance at events required for recruitment. DFS is a hybrid model with up to 3 days in the office.
Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance coverages, a hybrid work environment, paid holidays, paid vacation, sick time off and a 401K retirement savings plan. Office is located in Santa Ana, California.

OneOC was founded originally in 1958 as Newport Bureau of Volunteerism, the very first community service project of the Junior League of Orange County. Newport Bureau of Volunteerism then became the Volunteer Center Orange County.
In 2010, the organization rebranded to become OneOC, signaling our expanded services to nonprofits across the county. Since our early beginnings, we have developed ways for people to best use their valuable time and talent to help others. OneOC holds a 60-year track record of encouraging people to become personally involved in making our community a good and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family.

We have grown and matured into the largest and most comprehensive of the 250 volunteer centers nationwide, partnering with Points of Light Institute, HandsOn Network and California Volunteers.
